The mission of the channel is to inform entertain and enlighten both auctioneers and auction enthusiast. Peter serves as the Channel’s Executive Directors and one of the site's bloggers.

Peter is both a graduate of and an instructor at The Ohio Auction School. Peter teaches ethics, bid calling, public speaking and is the Director of the OAS Alumni Association. If you're looking to become an auctioneer by attending one of the premier auction schools in the United States, The Ohio Auction School can equip you with the skills you need to succeed. We are an approved school for many states that require auctioneers to be licensed.  Further, our instructors have real world experience and all are still in the field practicing what they teach. Peter is a member of the faculty at Reppert and teaches Ohio Auction Law and auction technology. The Reppert School of Auctioneering is the oldest continuously operated auction school in the country. Reppert's tradition as the oldest and best provider of auction education in the country has continued since it was founded in 1921.

The Super Auction

The Super Auction was founded in 2009 by David Helmer and Peter Gehres and is a biannual exposition of American Auctioneering that is unique in the auction world. The Super Auction brings together auctioneers from across the Midwest or a one day, multi-ring auction extravaganza. Each auctioneer is responsible for their own sessions and each session is approximately one hour and 100 lots of specialty merchandise. The event is held each February and August in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The blog documents Peter's travels across this great nation conducting auctions, picking up collections, hanging out with other auctioneers and generally having a good time. As nature would have it Peter and his fellow auctioneers are often required to stop and eat. Often they have opinions about what they have eaten. On occasion these opinions are rather strong and humorous.
